Violence

Last month I think? Or was it a few months back? I'm not quite sure but I'm pretty confident the news surfaced last month.

Ada berita pasal orang yang bunuh diri dan imitate scene yang ada dalam cerita 13 Reasons Why. If you guys don't know basically this story was originally a novel and became a tv series and since then the popularity skyrocketed. Kalau tak, memang ramai tak pernah dengar pasal cerita nih.

Lepas kejadian yang aku mention atas tadi, (the part where I said ada orang yang imitate 13 Reasons Why), ramai yang berdebat pasal tv show violence via social media. The event sparked a lot of debate on the internet (mostly Twitter memandangkan keyboard warrior modern kebanyakannya active dekat Twitter).

Actually benda ni memang topik yang selalu diulas.

Zaman aku sekolah rendah, sekolah menengah, zaman kolej, asal essay je mesti ada isu violence punya. Mesti. Kalau zaman sekolah standard lah kena buat essay pasal keburukan violence di tv bla bla bla. Kadang-kadang essay lebih kepada opinion. Dia tak kasi kau pendapat yang tetap but dia suruh kau ulaskan je so suka hatilah nak setuju atau nak bangkang. Tak silap aku, aku pernah tulis essay pasal violence masa latihan Muet dulu. Of course aku pada side pembangkang sebab mana boleh dalam karangan kita atas pagar (lol).

Kalau nak diikutkan, actually aku 50-50 sebenarnya.

Aku teringat satu scene dalam movie Clueless. The lead female during her debate class, dia bahas isu violence in the media. Cara dia cakap memang merapu tapi I understood her point.

She said, "The attorney general says there's too much violence on tv and that should stop. Even if you took out all the violent shows, you could still see the news. So until mankind is peaceful enough not to have violence on the news, there's no point in taking in out of shows that need it for entertainment value."

Violence is not only limited to physical violence. There are emotional violence, psychological violence and stalking pun actually considered violence.

And also, sometimes, they produce these kind of shows bukan setakat for entertainment, but also nak bagi kesedaran dekat masyarakat tentang kewujudan masalah-masalah macam ni. Life is not always full of unicorns and rainbows.

Through these shows, they educate people about it.

But tu lah, kadang-kadang boleh dikatakan ada certain scene overly-done.

Usually, cerita yang violence themed nih mesti PG. Perlukan parental guidance bagi budak underage. But you know, it's the modern era. These kind of materials are easily available for everyone. Including underage children. Senang dapat and kids don't watch these kind of things with their parents. But it can get really ugly when children take matters into their own hands though.

However, if y'all want to know, lelaki yang bunuh diri imitate 13 Reasons Why tuh bukannya underage pun. He was 23 when he died.

See? Even adults pun boleh terpengaruh apatah lagi the younger ones.

So in conclusion, aku tak bangkang pun violence in the media. At the same time, the media pun kena berpada-pada jugak.

Anyways, tadi tengok Idol Drama Operation. But lepas tuh internet lagging. Baru plan nak habiskan episode 10. Aku tak sangka show tuh sebegitu interesting (lewls).

Masa mula-mula tengok cast memang aku dah berminat but tak rasa nak tengok sebab waktu tu aku masih nak habiskan Dodaeng's Diary in LA. Aku tak suka nak tengok banyak-banyak benda at the same time. So bila dah habis DDL, barulah aku start tengok Idol Drama Operation. Paling penting my bias ada dalam tu which is the one and only Ryu Sujeong. Tak sabar nak tengok hasil drama yang dorang dah tulis huhuhu.

Speaking of drama, nanti School 2017 nak keluar. I'm so excited weyh sebab Kim Sejeong lead female! *O*

Aku just harap yang School 2017 tak fokus sangat dekat romance. But at the same time tak adalah tragis sangat macam School 2015 lewls.
